It is too easy to get caught up in cameras, lenses, and resolution. Of course, good tools are important. But ask anybody about his favorite movie – he will not mention the camera used. He will remember how it made him feel.
This emotion comes from the plot. An interesting story gives meaning to all choices – from the angle of shooting through the tempo of editing till the decision to spend extra time on a certain subject. None of these details makes sense by itself. It is just meaningless if there is no underlying story behind them.
This principle applies to any kind of production, whether a documentary film, a commercial, or a wedding movie. If you need a moving commercial, it should tell people the story of your product rather than list its characteristics. If you make a wedding film, it should reflect emotions experienced during your ceremony rather than serve as its photo album.
That is why the first step in making movies at Orion Films consists of discussing the story. This does not mean that we start filming immediately. We discuss the story first and choose the tool later – whatever helps us to realize our plan better.
Tell us what emotion you want to make your clients experience, and we will help you make a story out of it.
